Jane is a solicitor in our Planning and Environment law team based in the Brisbane office.
Jane worked in senior communication and journalism roles in NSW and internationally for 20 years, including as an environmental law journalist for WestLaw during the introduction of Australia’s Clean Energy bills, before retraining as a lawyer.
While studying, Jane worked as a commercial litigation paralegal for Clayton Utz, assisting on litigation including banking and finance and personal injury matters.
Since admission in 2016, Jane has worked across a range of Environmental and Planning law matters, including working as part the law reform team to introduce the NSW Container Deposit Scheme; undertaking an ADR role for Sunshine Coast Council in relation to complaints about planning approvals and enforcement actions; and working on litigation including developer-led appeals and enforcement prosecutions.
Formerly a solicitor with the Environmental Defender’s Office, Jane assisted on matters including Gloucester Resources Limited v Minister for Planning  NSWLEC 7 and the recent High Court decision in Oakey Coal Action Alliance Inc v New Acland Coal Pty Ltd  HCA 2.
Jane was the Vice-Chair of the NSW Young Lawyers Environment and Planning Law Committee for many years, and coordinated its CLE program.
Jane is additionally the managing editor of the fourth edition of A Practitioners’ Guide to the NSW Land and Environment Court.

Outside of work Jane enjoys bushwalking in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and going to the beach, serving as a personal slave to her furry dictator cat, and spending time with family and friends.
