Ben has been practising law since his admission in 2009, specialising exclusively in employment law and workplace relations, estate litigation, building and construction disputes, and commercial litigation, including personal and company insolvency.

Employment Law and Workplace Relations: Ben has acted for both employers and employees across all State and Commonwealth Courts, Tribunals, and Commissions. He has a particular passion for assisting SMEs with employment issues, including navigating disputes and achieving fair outcomes.

Building and Construction Litigation: Ben provides dedicated support to individuals and companies, focusing on SMEs and subcontractors in residential and commercial building disputes. He regularly represents clients before State Courts and QCAT and handles BCIPA and BIF claims as well as subcontractor’s charges. A notable success includes helping a principal contractor client successfully appeal a $350,000 BCIPA/BIF claim.

Estate Litigation: Ben assists executors and beneficiaries in resolving estate disputes in the Supreme and District Courts. His experience includes defending claims against estates and supporting clients left out of wills or provided inadequate provision, resulting in multimillion-dollar settlements for some clients.

Commercial Litigation and Insolvency: Ben has acted for individuals, directors, bankruptcy trustees, liquidators, and administrators in disputes involving company wind-ups, creditor’s petitions, preference claims, voidable transactions, and breaches of director’s duties under the Corporations Act.

• Secured a seven-figure settlement for an employee against a major corporation in a bullying and harassment case resulting in psychological harm.
• Assisted employers in successfully enforcing restraint and confidentiality provisions against former employees.
