Having attained a Bachelor of Laws (Second Class (Division A) Honours) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, both from QUT, Miriam was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2015. She commenced her legal career as a chambers and research clerk to a Brisbane-based barrister, affording her valuable exposure to numerous legal fields, including insolvency, family, and criminal law in both the State and Federal jurisdictions. However, she has always maintained a particular interest in property transactions. In 2016, she commenced work as a solicitor in property and commercial law, in which she has practiced for the past eight years. Her experience extends to:

• Commercial and retail shop leasing;
• Business sales and acquisitions (including the sale of business assets and share sale agreements);
• Advising and acting in put and call option agreements and large-scale development transactions;
• Off-the-plan sales and purchases, including the sale and purchase of rural property.

In 2018 (while still a junior solicitor), she was privileged to prepare and deliver a LegalWise presentation on the principles and potential pitfalls of lease assignments, forming part of the CPD training for that year. Her research interests also encompass charity law and indigenous legal issues.
